  • Product Description

Give your Atropos Spy v1 balisong a more neutral balance with these ultra-lightweight extension spacers. The spacers are made in-house from a rubbery, shatter-proof polyurethane, and protect the handles from drops.. The spacers also feature positive jimping and extend the handles from 5.5" to 5.66".

These spacers are only compatible with the "newer v1" versions of the Atropos Spy that feature rounded handle ends. Please view image 3 to verify that your Spy is compatible with these spacers. These are not compatible with the thinner, rounded Spy v2.

    Features

    • More neutral balance: These spacers weigh in at 0.055 oz, which is less than half the weight of the stock spacers (0.135 oz).
    • Extend handle length from 5.55" to 5.66".
    • Add positive jimping for extra grip on ladders and chokers.
    • With Zippy spacers installed, the Atropos Spy weighs 4.797 oz, compared to 4.955 oz with stock spacers.
    • Please note that some elements of Atropos products are hand-ground: Due to the resulting variation in Atropos fit/finish (particularily radii and chamfers for scale rounding), the cosmetic fit of these spacers may vary for your balisong.

    Assembly Instructions

Remove the stock spacer sexbolts and spacers. Insert the Zippy spacers. Apply inward pressure so that the extension is pressed into the handles to ensure the sexbolt holes line up. Insert the sexbolts while continuing to apply inward pressure. Then, tighten the bottom-most body screw till there is a strong resistance, and tighten the upper body screw till there is a light resistance. Insert the stock spacer below the Zippy spacer and tighten the uppermost body screw until the handles catch upon the stock spacer; then remove the stock spacer from the channel. Visually examine the handle slabs to ensure they are parallel. If you see inward bowing, tighten the bottom-most body screw. If you see outward bowing, loosen the outermost body screw. Then reinsert the stock spacer in the channel and tighten/loosen the upper body screw until it catches on the stock spacer, and it can be removed from the channel. Repeat the above procedure until the handles are parallel and the handles "catch" upon the stock spacer. If you have calipers you can measure the width at the pivot and just tighten/loosen the spacer screws till the channel width at the spacer matches the channel width at the pivots (~5.1 mm).
